Philosopher's Star Terms of Service
Last updated: November 4, 2026
Agreement
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Trozl ("we," "our," or "us") about Philosopher's Star, our game for Android and Windows, including its updates and online features (the "Game"). By installing or playing the Game you accept these Terms. If you do not accept them, do not install or play the Game.
The store you got the Game from (Google Play or Steam) has its own terms, which also apply to your download and your purchases. Our Privacy Policy at trzl.gg/privacy/gg-trzl-gidle/ explains how the Game uses data and is part of these Terms.
Your license to play
We give you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and play the Game for your own non-commercial entertainment, on devices you own or control, under these Terms and the store's terms. We and our licensors keep all rights in the Game, including its code, art, music, text, and names; the license is not a sale of any of them.
- Do not copy, sell, rent, sublicense, or distribute the Game or any part of it.
- Do not reverse engineer, decompile, or modify the Game, except where the law allows it despite this limit.
- Do not cheat, use bots or modified clients, exploit bugs, or interfere with our servers or with other players' use of the Game.
- Do not use the Game for anything unlawful, or send us feedback reports that are abusive, infringing, or unlawful.
Virtual items and purchases
- The Game has in-game currencies and items, such as Quintessence, earned in play or bought with real money. They have no monetary value, cannot be exchanged for money or anything else outside the Game, and cannot be sold or transferred, except as the Game itself provides.
- When you buy virtual currency or items, you get a license to use them in the Game; you do not own them. We may change, rebalance, or remove virtual items as the Game evolves, and they may be lost when the Game ends or your license ends.
- Purchases are processed by Google Play or Steam, under their terms and refund policies. Except where the law requires otherwise or the store grants a refund, purchases are final.
- If a store refunds or reverses a purchase, we may remove what it delivered from your game.
- Rewarded ads, where offered, are optional; the reward is given only after the ad is watched as the Game describes.
Your game and save data
The Game has no accounts. Your progress is saved on your device and, where your platform offers it, in that platform's cloud save. Uninstalling the Game or clearing its data can delete your progress, and we cannot restore progress we do not hold.
Feedback you send
If you send us a feedback report or suggestion, you allow us to use it to investigate problems and to improve our games, without owing you anything for it. Do not include personal information that the report does not need.
Changes, availability, and ending
We may update, change, or stop offering the Game or any of its features, including its online features, at any time. We will try to give notice in the Game before ending it.
These Terms last while you have the Game. They end automatically if you break them; you can end them at any time by uninstalling the Game. The parts about ownership, disclaimers, limits of liability, and disputes survive the end of these Terms.
Disclaimers
The Game is provided "as is" and "as available." To the extent the law allows, we make no warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, and we do not promise that the Game will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that saved progress will never be lost. Some places do not allow these exclusions, so they may not apply to you, and nothing here limits rights you have under consumer law that cannot be waived.
Limits of liability
To the extent the law allows, Trozl is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost data, progress, or virtual items, arising from the Game or these Terms. Our total liability for any claim about the Game is limited to the amount you paid for the Game and in-game purchases in the twelve months before the claim. These limits do not apply where the law does not allow them, such as to liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute about the Game or these Terms will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Wyoming, and you and we consent to their jurisdiction.
If you are a consumer living in a country whose law gives you the right to bring claims in your own courts, or to rely on mandatory protections of your home law, these Terms do not take those rights away.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms, for example when the Game gains a feature or the law changes. We will post the new version on this page and update the "Last updated" date, and we will tell you in the Game before a change that materially affects your rights. If you keep playing after a change takes effect, the updated Terms apply.
